The objective of Ohel Sara is to spread the fundamentals of Judaism to the women and girls of Klal Yisrael so that they may reinforce their service to Hashem, strengthen their emunah in Torah and grow spiritually on all levels. Ohel Sara is based in the heart of Flatbush located in Brooklyn, New York and is open to every young girl & woman who wishes to expand her growth in Torah study.
Ohel Sara holds shiurim on the weekly Parsha as it relates to our daily lives. A newsletter containing Divrei Torah, a candle lighting chart and an inspirational article is distributed at the shiurim and via e-mail enriching the Shabbat table. Ohel Sara offers private classes for women who would prefer a one-on-one learning experience. The lessons cover areas in Halacha, Musar and Hashkafa. Ohel Sara sponsors a monthly Shabbaton inviting various girls, religious and not yet observant, to experience an authentic and spiritually uplifting Shabbat. The Shabbat is highlighted by zemirot, shiurim and group discussions on improving one’s Avodat Hashem.
Ohel Sara sponsors young girls in yeshivot and summer camps. We purchase head coverings for any woman who wants to observe the mitzvah of covering ones hair but cannot afford to do so.
In today’s day and age where the forces of tuma, of impurity are developing our communities, it is imperative that we ban together to try to combat the darkness by bringing the light of kedusha into the world. The Midrash states:

“In merit of righteous women our forefathers were redeemed from Egypt and in their merit we will be redeemed in the future.” |
